Watcha working on this weekend?
I am going to put in a firepit, weather permitting. Putting it at the corner of our pool patio. It will have a 4+' x 4+' stone/masonry base. Steel insert. Will be about 14-15" high. I have to rent a concrete saw from Home Depot to cut a 36"x36" section of the patio out. I will dig down 6-8" and fill that with river pebble for an ash base. I may get a a custom heavy perforated steel plate to put over the pebble to create a "clean" surface to scoop ash off of. We have a local steel fabricator that does walk up stuff like that. Seems like the store has quite a variety of saws to rent. Gas or electric. All models cut to the same 4 3/4" depth. Been ages since I ran a masonry saw. Imagine the electric saw would be a lot quieter, gas probably more powerful regardless of the claims. Not looking forward to working in the dust cloud LOL.
