I went online this morning with my debit card and paid my final total to the Ahearn Fund for this year. I saw an interesting tab that let's you see how much you have to give to be at a designated rank. I would need to give roughly $16.8 million to be number one. $10 million to be number two and $5 million to be number three.
The totals reflect all giving since 2010. I'm guessing that means K-State has only two donors who have averaged over $1 million per year in the past six years. I don't know why but I would have guessed that number to be closer to ten. I would bet OU and Texas have close to two dozen who give $1 million per year. I'm in the top 1/3rd of giving and my total is less than $40k for that period.
To me it makes our facilities expansions over that period even more remarkable.
