We (me, the wife, and our grandson) are heading to Memphis. All of us are stoked. I know this is not the best team ever, and I don't like our odds of beating Arky. By the same token I never give up on Coach and this team pulling off the upset.
We are 6 and 6. Just like life, sometimes you break even and your just glad to get there. Just like life,if you persevere,you "get there". So here is my first "toast". Thanks to this years team, you touched about every emotion we have.
Toast #2. Charmeachelle Moore. I can't get this kid's story out of my head. This has to be the best "off the field" story of the year. Anyone who wears the uniform makes me proud to wear purple. Charmeachell Moore, you make me proud to wear purple times a zillion. And thanks for signing my cap at Fan Appreciation Day. I'll be wearing it at the game. I hope you will be the difference maker when we beat the Razorbacks.
Toast#3 Jesse Ertz. This must be a tough year for him. If healthy, we probably win another game or two. I don't know if his career is over. I don't know if he will get his starting job back. That must be something tough for him to ponder. For you Jesse, here's hoping we are celebrating you leading us to double digit wins this time next year.
Toast#4. Reed Bergstrom After going to Butler, Reed walked on to KSU. Although he didn"t get a lot of playing time he still invested a lot of blood sweat and tears. Thanks Reed for being the only one from our little high school to play football at K-State.
I could go on forever because we have many players that are special in their own way. But , Go Cats Beat the Razorbacks!!!!!
