Was out with friends to watch the KState game and a disparaging remark towards the generation coming of age was made about participation trophies.
Just wondering, where are these handed out because we've missed them. Used to get a ribbon and medal in YMCA to commemorate each season but no one pretended it was anything but that (even during undefeated seasons)...as a coach I would give it to each kid and use the opportunity to say something nice about them.
We've played on competitive teams since 3rd grade in every sport and none of my kids have every received any hardware short of a 1st or 2nd place finish.
Been on many very good basketball teams with many wins we are proud of but zero hardware.
