This Saturday’s tilt with TCU is BIG.
Despite being ranked, TCU is sitting at 2 & 4 in Big 12 play.
The Frogs have lost four big 12 games by a total of 11 points and 2 of those losses were in OT.
The Frogs are well aware that another lost would place them in a BIG hole at 2 & 5.
And after playing a road game in Manhattan on Saturday, TCU has to face WV on Big Monday.
The Frogs are also well aware that K-State knocked them out of the NCAA tourney last year (on their home court). After losing to K-State, the Frogs had to win the Big 12 tourney to make the dance.
On the flip side, K-State knows the importance of taking care of home court and the CATS also know they need to win to avoid falling below 500 in the league.
And the CATS have to turn around and play a road game on Monday night against Baylor.
When I heard that Jaylen Fisher had went down to injury, I thought advantage K-State, but Alex Robinson might be a better point guard, particularly when it comes to distributing the ball (set a Big 12 record for assists on Wednesday = 17).
What K-State needs desperately is for Mawien or Stockard or someone to step up and play some defense and rebound in the paint.
Each team will need to shoot the ball the well, but to me the obvious “key to the game”, will K-State allow Brodziansky have his way in the paint. Mawien and/or Stockard need to man up.
GO STATE !
