The attrition taking place in our program appears high even considering the pandemic. I’d be interested in Kellis or our staff do an article on the attrition over the last two years. Some guys were contributors, some were not but they did contribute to badly needed depth. Opting out (which is code for I’m looking around), transfer portal, getting kicked off the team, etc....
Is this the wave of the future? Are there riffs in the locker room?
Were seeing guys playing that wouldn’t otherwise. I believe it’s an issue, whether it’s this year or the following years to come. Look, I support our staff and want them to succeed, but the elephant in the room for down the road is our depleted depth and it appears more defections are coming since there are players not seeing the playing field that we have hoped to see.
Maybe others are not concerned, but it appears building our depth is very important to our improving over time. I cannot cover all the issues now, but you get my point, it’s only fair to raise the issue and have some research and evaluation done in order to bring clarity to the fan base.
