The Kansas State marching band is in hot water, after a controversial half-time performance during Saturday night's football game against South Dakota.
Band members on the field formed what some say looked like a sex act against the Kansas Jayhawk mascot.
Video of the Star Trek-themed show has been shared countless times online. While some college football fans thought the whole thing was funny, others were offended and many were left speechless.
"Yeah, that is questionable," said Anne Perdue, who watched the video.
Marching band director Frank Tracz has issued an apology on Facebook in the wake of the criticism. He even published his drill sheet of what the performance was intended to look like.
"There was absolutely no intent to display anything other than the [Starship] Enterprise and the Jayhawk in battle," Tracz said. "If I am guilty of anything it would be the inability to teach the drill in a manner that these young people could have succeeded. I do apologize for the misinterpretation and I assure you that I meant absolutely no disrespect or malice toward the University of Kansas."
"I mean if that's what they say it is, then you should accept it for what they say. But they should see what it looks like," said Chung Bright, who watched the video.
"I don't see a spaceship. It doesn't look like a spaceship to me at all," said Alberto Garcia-Rojas, who also watched the video.
