Earlier this year we did a series of polls about the greatest players to play for Snyder. I have decided to start another series of polls for Men's Basketball. We will start with the coach and then work through the 5 positions.
Jack Gardner (1939-1942, 1946-1953), 146-81 (.643), 10 years at KSU, 2 NCAA Tournaments, 2 Final Fours, 1 Natl Champ Game Appearance, 3 Conference Titles, 4 Top 25 finishes, 2 Top 10 finishes, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame
Tex Winter (1953-1968), 261-118 (.689), 15 years at KSU, 6 NCAA Tournaments, 2 Final Fours, 8 Conference Titles, 4 Top 25 finishes, 4 Top 10 finishes, Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame
Jack Hartman (1971-1986), 295-169 (.636), 16 years at KSU, 7 NCAA Tournaments, 4 Elite Eights, 4 Conference Titles, 3 Top 25 finishes, 1 Top 10 finish
Lon Kruger (1986-1990), 81-46 (.638), 4 years at KSU, 4 NCAA Tournaments, 1 Elite Eight, 1 Top 25 finish
Frank Martin (2008-2012), 117-54 (.684), 5 years at KSU, 4 NCAA Tournaments, 1 Elite Eight, 2 Top 25 finishes, 1 Top 10 Finish
I tried to focus on KSU career's. Huggins, Fitzsimmons, Altman and Weber had some success outside of Manhattan, but their KSU careers were either too short or too mediocre to put them up with the best (imo).
