There seem to be two very distinct camps on here. Some portion of our fan base hates KU sports with a passion, and truly enjoys watching bad things happen to them. The other portion seems to believe that expressing joy in a KU loss just proves you're a sniveling little brother that make our fan base look petty.
So where do you sit? If KU loses, gets put on probation, or if Bill Self gets chicken-winged by a KSU fan storming a court, do you smile? Or do you act like you've been there, and refuse to take your joy from another team's troubles?
Me personally, I'm a little brother in real life and 100% one in my fandom. While my top tier favorite sports moments all involve my team (2000 KSU/NU snow game, 2003 Big 12 Championship, 1997 destruction of Syracuse, Pullen's light's out performance against BYU) I definitely have plenty of room in my happy memory bank for KU's pains (Ali Farokmanesh, the Cari windmill, the thundering "Harry Potter" cheer when Hinrich would shoot free throws, every time an announcer CAN'T mention the B12 championship streak)
So where are you at? Are you just a KSU fan that thinks disliking a rival is small and proves they're in your head? Or is fandom more fun when you get to root for AND against teams?
