Your plane goes down on a desert island, and the only things that survive are you, a 60-inch TV with RCA inputs, Scarlett Johansson, a classic NES console with one controller (sorry Scarlett) and a burning pile of cartridges. By some strange twist of fate, the games were organized, so you get to save a SERIES of games. But you can only save one game/series.
Fortunately for you, this island has an outlet (as most desert islands do) so power won't be a problem.
So, which game(s) are you saving?
I'm going with the Zelda series. Plenty of hours of gameplay, difficult enough to keep it interesting, and decent replayability.
I love Tecmo Bowl, but I know I'd just keep choosing the Raiders and winning 73-0 with Bo Jackson. The Marios are absolute classics, but even with 2 years, I'm not capable of beating level 8-4 anymore and I'd shatter the console in frustration. Tetris and Dr. Mario would be GREAT time-sucks, but not sure I could do it for more than a day without losing my mind. Mega Man is a great series...hard not to take that, except they really aren't that different from one another and it'd get repetitive. FF series is really tempting, and is probably my second choice.
You might ask yourself, why choose a 1-player game when I'm stranded with a bored Scarlett Johansson? I already told you, there's only one controller, and I can't trust her to beat the dungeons in Zelda!
