I saw the old video of Venables that was posted the other day and remembered how big the shoulder pads looked back then. Watching the games now, the pads seem to fit the players and they are all much more compact.
I began to notice this maybe a few years ago, but seeing the old videos really showed the difference.
When did the pads start to be downsized? Some of the bigger players seem like they hardly have on pads at all.
