Creighton 21-11 and 10-8
1. Play uptempo, love to run and play in transition.
2. Love the 3 too.
3. Makes sense, they are pretty short. Essentially play a 4 guard line up.
4. Great at home, including wins vs. Providence, Butler and Nova. 16-2.
5. 4-6 in last 10, one of those wins vs. someone called Bemidiji State a D2 school.
6. Average away from home, 5-9 in road/neutral site games. And they were blown out by the good teams they played away from home. Lost by 22 at Xavier, 23 at Butler, 17 at Gonzaga, 20 at Nova and 14 at Providence. Lost to Baylor by 6 at Sprint.
7. We know about Foster- he could go for 30 or shoot 5-19, he’s averaging 20 a game. First Team All Big East. The other stud is Khyri Thomas, 6-3 guard averging 15 a game. 2nd Team All Big East. Also he’s 2x defensive player of the year in Big East. Eudora, Kansas’ own Mitch Ballock, 6-5 guard, made all freshsman team and scores 7 a game.
Tough match up. We opened as a 1.5 point dog, now at 1. Health of our two big guns is key. We’ll have to defend the 3 a lot better than we did Friday night. They are a small team, hopefully we can control the glass/paint which hasn’t been a strength this season for us.
Every ‘expert’ on The Athletic picked Creighton, and the two guys on ‘One Shining Podcast’ also thought Creighton will have no trouble with us. I take both of those things as a positive sign.
