This was tough as we have quite a few good players on D:
1. Willis- Been a disruptor all season. 6 sacks already including 2 last night. Good to see him getting sacks against Big 12 competition. Right or wrong, but last felt like he wracked up sacks against non con and KU not decent Big 12 competition.
2. Geary-Doesn’t rack up big stats as a DT but commands a lot of attention so our LB’s can are free to make plays.
3. Barnett- Can’t be said enough how big it is having him back. He makes a lot of plays but has missed a fair amount of tackles this year. If not for the missed tackles, would be #1.
4. Lee-Been up and down this year. Played really well against WV but has had some so so games due to taking poor tackling angles. He still can get a LOT better IMO.
5. Walker-This kid looks like he is going to be special. Love his explosiveness and swag. Been getting a lot of pressure on the QB, especially for a Freshman.
6. Reed-Love his aggressiveness. Ballhawk with more INT’s this year by himself than our secondary had all of last year. The way he broke on the pick six last night was impressive. His catch may have been more impressive. Most of our WR’s would not have caught that.
7. Shelly- He likes to come up and hit WR’s. Love his confidence. Love that him and Reed are only sophomores.
8. Moore- He is around the ball a lot which has led to him getting a lot of fumble recoveries but has missed a ton of tackles.
9. Adams- He is becoming a big hitter from the safety spot. He came up and delivered a hit last night that sent the Tech player flying backwards. Needs to get better at angles and tackling.
10. Starks- Undersized and not fast. Been fairly quiet this year.
11. Dishon-Freshman that will get better. Only had limited reps due to injury.
