If Notre Dame finishes 11-1 and is left out of the CFP, do you extend an offer if you're the Big XII? It will more than likely be fruitless, but I don't see Notre Dame take kindly to being snubbed (from their point of view). Let them keep their NBC deal, since it's not as exclusive as the LHN deal.
I'm not one of those people that yell that this conference needs to get to 12 or else, but if there's an opportunity based on situation, why not? They will more than likely say "lol we are Notre Dame, go away" but it doesn't hurt.
