Football Recruiting Recruiting Roundup 3/3

Was supposed to be yesterday but I sucked and dropped the ball. Going to run a couple things through here, to keep it simple.

1) The Carson Willich situation rolls on and I don't expect a conclusion to it in the near future. It sounds like he's hit the pause button on it a bit since visiting Iowa State. In a roundabout way, it kinda feels like a good thing for Kansas State, to me. As I wrote on here a few times leading up to that trip by him to Ames, something didn't sit right by me that he was so insistent on making the visit if he was already a slam dunk to the Wildcats.

I don't think he's waiting just to give Iowa State more time, either, as I know that is something that is worthy of considering as well. After speaking to him, and speaking to various sources on it, I just think he's legitimately torn. He's spoken with Kansas State every day since, for the record.

In regards to another visit being taken to Manhattan in the near future, or in the next few weeks, I would pump the brakes on that sentiment. I think he and Silas Etter will get out there together at some point, but not that soon. Willich was just there not long ago with his family.

2) Missing on Jacob Knuth was another setback for K-State, in what has seemed like a few months of setbacks at this point. I didn't have confidence for Tayven Jackson, of course, but I thought they would compete for Knuth and saw him as a very good prospect. I think they'll find another to pursue, in that same wheelhouse, though. I'm just not sure it is Zach Pyron. I'm not as crazy about him. However, he was just offered by Baylor.

3) Our pal @ninglu86 sniffed it out but I do it is possible that Kentucky defensive back transfer Jamari Brown is someone to keep in mind. I don't know for sure that anything is happening, but the little seeds of evidence seem to indicate that there is something to it. As we have pointed out, there's a clear need for another defensive back transfer and it is imperative that they land one that is ready to go and can play safety and/or nickel. Especially nickel.

They chased Jaquan Amos of Villanova for this very reason and I think they will continue to do so until they land one.

Other than that, not a lot going on. Today is first day of spring ball and we will still have spring ball content coming today, plus an availability on Friday where we will meet virtually with Klieman and Tru Carroll.

Three and Out first thing tomorrow should be a good one.
