Three years ago we made the switch to a heavy high school recruiting philosophy and not so much with juco recruits. Each year since the approach has been the same relying more on highs chool recruits and not as much on juco recruits. Three years ago we said it would take 2-3 years to start to see the results of that philosophy change.... and here we are.

Quality depth at every position seems to be deeper than I can ever remember it being. Even though they aren't 4 or 5 star kids we are recruiting high school kids that are good enough to play as redshirt freshmen and sophmores and be difference makers. When you add kids like that every year to the roster your depth at each position just gets deeper and deeper.

We aren't having to replace a juco heavy depth chart every year or two not knowing if the new recruit that has to step in and play right away will always pan out or now. Those juco guys are no longer being supplemented by only high school recruits that need at least 3 years of development before they are ready to see any time on the field.

We still have a couple of positions that we still have to work on the depth but for the most part we are deeper in quality players at just about every position than I can ever remember... Quarterback, running back, receiver, tight end, OL, DE, Linebacker. Even at the positions we still need depth (DT, CB, S) it's not like we are scrambling for starters.
