In recruiting updates, KSO staff has long talked about Shaun Williams contributing as a true freshman. However, I believe that view pre-dates last year's late season emergence of Mike McGuirl.
So is that still the view? Should it be?
I'm already concerned that minutes next season are going to be too limited for McGuirl (and possibly Diarra) if Bruce goes back to playing Stokes anywhere close to "Barry-like" minutes. If Williams gets added to the mix, minutes (and quite possibly attitudes) get spread thinner still.
I thought it interesting that in the recent DY article on Weber and recruiting that Bruce talked about the last scholarship slot making the most sense going to sit-out transfer or freshman willing to redshirt. Is that also true of the next to last slot -- the slot that Williams filled?
