FWIW, these thoughts are based on the main argument I see people bring up regarding the student section behavior in Bramlage. (i.e. they want a place where they can bring children and not hear cursing, not see someone flipping the bird, etc.)

Maybe I'm in the wrong here, but I really don't get all that worked up when my kids are in environments where people are cussing or generally behaving badly. BTW, I have 3 kids, ages 10, 8, and 3...and heck in my not so greatest moments I might drop and f-bomb or two in front of them. Its just who I am, I'm not a perfect Dad.

Regardless, I talk to them about it, and let them know my expectations are for them not to cuss. I'm guessing my 10 year old son prolly uses some poor language with his buddies though, and I honestly don't care. I did a little too at that age in the privacy of my pals.

The world can be a rough place, with lots of different kinds of norms with many different types of people. I figure if I allow my kids to be exposed to all these environments and not shelter them, it really won't be a big deal for them growing up. That doesn't mean I want my kids to emulate what they see and hear in these places, which is why I talk with them about it. I believe I'm always teaching them to be good people, and to trust their instincts.

Maybe this is a generation thing? I just don't understand the PC movement and censorship types.

If this is a religious thing, do you really think our creator will ultimately judge us on our language?

Fire away with your thoughts.
