By my count we have 80 guys on scholarship (counting Darryel Patterson). This means we have 5 more remaining slots assuming no departures, or if Dimel, Reed and/or Pringle leave, it could be 5-8 scholarships. If I went on pure need according to my counts, I'd want the following, which would be 6-7 additional signees:

2-3 HS LBs - I think our pursuit of Honas spoke more to our appreciation for his talent level than a need for a Jr. LB. Our recruitment of Dasher never made much sense to me. Really, what we need is high school LBs. I'd like to see us add 2-3 between now and signing day. Really two is enough, but if we land 3 that's fine.

Though there hasn't been a single guy on the radar screen to date, I'd take a HS RB.

If we come across and build relationships with some legit guys with instant-impact potential at DE or DT I'd take them - JC or graduate transfers.

Lastly, I'd take a durable, run-first JC QB if we can find one. A Wildcat specialist with enough passing ability to keep people honest. I'm talking about a 6-2, 230 kind of guy. He would not be there to compete with Skylar Thompson; but rather, to compliment him as a change-up and limit Skylar's carries. I am operating under the assumption Delton's career is over.
