Repeal the 17th Amendment ?

I have heard folks mention this my entire life.


Some of the debate points:

1. Better representation to each state, as we are a representative republic and the individuals in the state.
2. Would reduce money in national politics
3. Would reinforcement we are a country of States.
4. Strengthen the 10th amendment of the Bill of Rights
5. The 17th amendment was passed the same year as a federal income tax, which can't be good.

The counter points:
1. It is more democratic, but is it?
