First off, shitty officiating aside what an incredible game. It was great to see the ku faithful dead quiet most of the game and frankly I saw two teams going in different directions tonight.
As I promised some of you, I said I would eat a pile of crow if we didn't lose by around 20. I haven't read all the threads for those that had the benefit of replay and my seats weren't great but I thought Weber's game plan was phenomenal with very few exceptions. I don't think he's the best coach for us, but that performance would win about 14 games in the Big XII. I hope he continues to replicate it. Great coaching overall. This isn't a good ku team, but we could use this as a stepping stone. We aren't going to win them all and there was no shame in this one.
Some observations being there:
1) ku fans don't know dick about basketball. I was genuinely surprised. They are the photo negative of Nebraska football fans.
2) Svi Myckilokihymickihineyho travel not only sucked, but the ku people all thought the review was to see if he scored. I thought they called traveling and were reviewing that. My neighbors all thought I was being biased.
3) the only replays they EVER show on the Jumbotron are ku scoring plays. They never show any other replays, so I have to rewatch the entire game to see what I missed
4) I can honestly say other than a couple blatant wrong/no calls, the officiating sucked for both teams equally.
5) parking in Lawrence is awful and that barn smells like a dead animal.
6) they have a pretty bitchin museum.
7) I still have never spent a dime in Lawrence. Man was I thirsty
Again, I hope you all had a good night. And for the big Bruce fans, I hope you accept my mea culpa in thinking Bruce was going to get crushed tonight. I predicated the teams poise, focus and spirit. I hope to see more of it.
