I've been looking at the contracts, and status for all the players:

Nothing new, just more specifics on the reality that is the KC Royals, and the 2017 season, and the free agents after next year.
I would resign Escobar and Morales - I think the reality is, the guys in Omaha are just not ready to go the whole season...not in one that the playoffs should be a given, and a run at the WS a possibility.
Do need to find another starter; but I think the off-season rest will do this rotation good.
I would go ahead and sell out, for one more year, and try to "keep the magic" and the chemistry together for one more run.
I think Merrifield starts @ 2nd and Mondesi arrive later in the year to finish it off, as Merrifield will probably be needed all over the field...I would go with Orlando in RF - and possibly consider Dozier later in the year as well.
I think 2018 is the Storm-chaser season...
2018 is when you start to play for the future, but I think 2017 should be another "run" and the organization should go for it.
I think these guys will come to spring training, closer to 2015, with a bad taste in their mouth for missing the playoffs this year.
Of course a 14 game winning streak could still happen!
