just to be clear... i don't mean this as much of an insult as it sounds... i haven't really bashed on Yost since april/may... as I've tried to watch and figure out how yost, who's an arrogant dumbass (a deadly combo in life) has somehow made a team greater than the sum of their parts... which is the highest and most important honor/compliment you can give a coach... it doesn't make sense... right?
but yost is arrogant... the way he talks to the media, despite his flaws, his almost appaling... it makes no sense... when he first started, everybody (me included) laughed at his treatment of Nate Bukaty... but really, that was just bukaty getting what he deserves sometimes... it should have been more obvious to us all that yost was a bit of a (overused word alert) douche....
and as we watched yost "manage" (used loosely) it did become much more obvious that this dude should not be talking down to anyone involved in baseball as he simply doesn't have a superior baseball mind....
but guess what? look at this royals team.... as you watch Ventura fight anybody over anything.... or watch their hand motions which, while maybe not intentionally, show up the other team (especially in a sport full of "unwritten" rules).. or stealing chiefs players girls.... they are.... wait for it..... kind of arrogant douches... right?
so.... despite the stupidity of Yost's actions today.... the lack of logic... and the chances of failure at any other place hovering around 99%... i think the royals respond...... because Yost saying "F-you Stats" is him doubling down on his guys who believe in him... and he believes in them... it defies logic.... it defies common sense... it defies baseball.... but that's how this team works...
we all know the royals are going to win tonight... right? just to "prove yost right".....
