As far as I know Derek has only shared info on one player returning or not for next year. He stated that Drew Wiley was ready to go into the work force and would likely not return. Who do you think might return for next season, and who do you hope returns for next season?
Who I think is most likely to return (with no inside knowledge whatsoever)
1. Wykeen Gill - Early injury cut his senior year short and lack of playmakers at WR
2. Cody Fletcher - Should have a clear path to be a starter in 2021
3. Boom Massie - Finally coming into his own now that he is healthy. Could be a starter if Hubert goes to the NFL.
4. Noah Johnson - 1st year as a starter, might want to get some more games in.
5. Jahron McPherson - Wishful thinking on my part. He could work his way up the draft boards with some more tape at safety.
6. Skylar Thompson - I know this would upset some people, but I'm sure he hates going out with an injury.
7. DJ Render - Finally getting some playing time. I'm not sure if he has gotten better or if everyone else is just so bad.
8. Harry Trotter - God love him, but I hope he isn't getting carries next year. Somehow wouldn't surprise me though.
9. AJ Parker - I think he will be in the NFL next year. But if his injury turns out to be worse than we think, he might come back.
10. Blake Lynch - Why not?
11. Brock Monty - Why not?
12. Wesley Burris - Why not?
13. Kiondre Thomas - He left Minnesota so that he could start. After loosing his starting spot I don't really see him sticking around for another year.
14. Hughes/Sullivan - Don't see them coming back for their 8th years.
15. Briley Moore - Go get that paycheck
16. Drew Wiley - Go get that paycheck
17. Justin Eichman - Can't imagine he will still have a scholarship waiting for him
Who I am most hopeful comes back
1. Jahron McPherson - He struggled vs WVU but I love the way he plays. Currently no depth at safety.
2. Cody Fletcher - No depth at LB
3. Skylar Thomson - I'm exited for the future, but idk if the young guys will be ready
4. Briley Moore - He would be higher but I don't think there is any way he isn't in the NFL next year
5. AJ Parker - He should be in the NFL next year even if he has to work his way up from the practice squad
6. Drew Wiley - He is a stud, but Derek said he isn't coming back
7. Elijah Sullivan - I Just don't see it happening
