So if any of you know Scott Sieben be sure to congratulate him and wish him the best of luck! Expect great things and better service! Scott's Facebook post is below.
I'm extremely excited to announce that I have taken over the ownership of Kite's Bar & Grill and will look to reopen it as soon as possible. I will continue to own and operate Mr. K's & Mr. K's Mobile Kitchen. I look to market & operate them as a team of locally owned & operated restaurants. I plan to bring the same great service & food quality that I have provided to the west side of Manhattan for the past 8 years back to the heart of Aggieville at Kite's.
I'm currently working on creating a new fresh menu with some of the classic Kite's items as well some new options. We will also expand our catering business as we now have more options & the ability to cater larger events.
Mr. K's General manager is Rachel Anguiano who has been with me for 6 years. Kite's General manager will be John Blackwell. John has been in the restaurant business for over 10 years and we are glad to have him as part of our team.
My history with Kite's started in 2002 when the Wilson family gave me a job as a kitchen boy my 1st year at K-State. I worked at Kite's throughout college & I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.
After 8 years with Kite's, I took over ownership of Mr. K's in 2010. My family history with Kite's goes back to the 70's as both my parents attended K-State and my dad lived above Kite's during his time at KSU. He also took the Kite's sponsored softball team on to win a national championship (his uniform can be found hanging in Kite's still). My mom also has a long history with Kite's & Aggieville as she was the director of the Aggieville business association for over 16 years. She headed the Saint Patrick's Day parade, Aggieville Trick or Treat, & worked with the business association to create a thriving business district. Not only did I meet many friends at Kite's, but also my wife Lindsay. She was a server at Kite's from 2003 til 2007. Our relationship started at Kite's & has only grown in the last 15 years. We now have a 15 month old boy; Kayson Mack Sieben & we look to grow our family in the future.
A special thanks to my wife & family for allowing me to follow my dreams and understanding what it takes to build a successful restaurant business.
Kite's has a long history of tradition with K-State and its Alumni; I look to continue the tradition by offering locally owned & operated businesses for K-Staters by K-Staters.
