They will be the second current Big 12 school to sell beer at football games. West Virginia began selling beer in 2011. Texas test beer and wine sales this past year at basketball, baseball and softball games with a lot of success and no problems due to heavy drinking. They also eliminated pass outs at all games so fans could leave the stadium and drink then return to the stadium.
West Virginia has reported they are making around $600K in revenue from beer sales at football games. Texas obviously expects that to be a bigger dollar amount at a stadium that is 40K larger in size.
Not sure how popular eliminating pass outs at BSFS would be with our fans even if beer and wine was being sold in the stadium.
