The Cats weren't the only ones to eek out an OT win this weekend. I watched his game against Staley on TV Friday and was impressed.
As I understand it, Staley is one of the top defenses in Missouri and they certainly looked the part. Fort Osage trailed by 2 touchdowns at halftime before tying it up and winning on a FG in OT. I don't know what Skylar's final line was, but it was certainly impacted by several drops...I believe there were at least 3 passes that he put on the receivers' hands in the end zone that they dropped. I think Osage would've won in regulation if not for the coaches trying to force the run game with their running back. The few drives where they really moved the ball were the drives that they allowed Skylar to do his thing. His line was getting eaten up by the defensive front and he had a handful of impossible scrambles to get out of the pocket and find a receiver or pick up some yards on the ground. He was clearly the best player out there and it's not hard to envision him fitting into our offense.
He's also the punter, which was fun to watch...he struggled a bit on the kicks, but got some very favorable bounces.
