While substitute teaching awhile back, I overheard some of the staff talking about "Willie's Hideout". Curiosity got the best of me so had to ask....what and where is this? It once was called "The Green Chicken", take old Hwy 24 between Manhattan and Wamego, there you'll run into St. George, Kansas. Willie's is a fun, Cheers-like, (quality over quantity) restaurant. This is a "can't miss it" place as it is the ONLY place in town other than the school, post office and police department, I think. Ron and I enjoy family owned places, and this certainly qualifies as James, Ryan, and "Pops" own and run it. Typical bar food, including colored and flavored pickled eggs. I loved the philly cheesesteak sandwich....and margarita! They are open Wednesday through Sunday, might see you there.
