As I was watching the game on Saturday, I couldn't help but think of Snyder and what he is doing to the starters.
With the game completely out of reach, Bill treated his starters like a Revolutionary War General. Lining them all up with small muskets while the opposition had bigger guns that kept firing. With the score out of hand he kept those front line guys going while they kept falling one by one.
My point is, how much damage to the starting units, did he allow after the game was completely out hand?
He had to know at half time we didn't have the fire power or the defense to mount any comeback. But he continued to jam a square peg into a round hole. Why?
With a squad of 124 guys of which 30 to 35 are being held back because of red-shirting or future growth issues, why not play the guys that never get to play or hardly get any playing time. Leverett at RB, Barry has played a little at Safety in the past, Munds at WR, Austin Katsorelos at FB, Zach Davidson at QB ( hell he, couldn't of done any worse at that position) Jayad Kirby at LB (yes, I know he plays special teams) Myles Copeland at LB, the list could go on and on. Instead, the losses, especially on defense, are starting to pile up. Now we might have to start pulling additional red-shirts and that's not a positive. All because Snyder thought, with the game out of hand, he was going to teach his offensive and defensive units at lesson ?
Before, I have railed about this staff using limited players during a game, and now that part is starting to prove true. We put a lot of mileage on the starters with no room for growth for any future depth. Building depth, because of injury, is no way to sustain health or build for the future. Oklahoma was allowed to bring 65 players, they played 63. K-State had roughly 80 available players that aren't being red-shirted. We played a total 51.
The game got to the point where we should of lined up two TE's and just ran the ball as much as possible. While we had the ball for 16 minutes in the first half we had only for 11 in the second.
Finally, to you turds that sold your tickets to OU fans or had OU fans sit with you. Are you that poor or just plain stupid?
