I posted after K-State beat Baylor, how long before we hear that K-State needs to win another game to become a lock for the tourney? My post was “tongue & cheek” so to speak.

I believe K-State is in the tournament, but I also must admit that there is still a tiny bit of uncertainty in my mind. If K-State loses to TCU this Thursday, the selection committee can say that K-State lost 3 or their last 4 games + K-State played a weak non-con + K-State does not have a note-worthy win.

What K-State has going for them is that the CATS finished 4th alone >> in what many regard as the best conference top to bottom (rather you believe that or not, is another topic).
And K-State swept Baylor, Texas, & Okie State

K-State is listed in the last 4 bye group on Lundardi’s bracket. Now that’s not the same thing as the last 4 in, but it still makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Not that Lundardi really knows anything until he receives some inside info.

ALSO, I will be surprised if the Big 12 gets 8 teams in the tourney.
ESPN is sure pushing for the Big 12 to get 8 in …heck, Okie State is now listed as the first 4 out. But I’m betting on 7 Big 12 teams.

If K-State does not win on Thursday, you better hope Okie State, Texas, Baylor do not do any damage in KC.
Actually, "IF" OU beats Okie State - the Sooners lock up a spot even if they lose to ku in round 2 = Trae young effect (Okie State will be NIT bound).

OR = Okie State & Texas wins 2 or more games in KC and Baylor wins their first game against WV... yep, things just changed real fast (again, assuming K-State loses to TCU).

What if the Big 12 only gets 7 teams in = ku, TT, WV, OU (or OSU), Baylor, Texas, TCU.

++++++++++++++
The other thing that makes me feel uncomfortable is that the selection committee often seems to have an agenda. And the selection committee will apply different criteria to different teams when justifying their selections. (oh and never mind that K-State has a history of getting screwed..ha).

Selection Committee:
Selected Bubble Team A ... did not perform well in November & December, but we really liked how they finished the year (in other words, never mind about Nov & Dec).

Bubble Team B, well despite performing well in their league, Team B did not play anyone in Nov. & Dec. (so Nov. & Dec. does matter ?).

Bubble Team C, lacked road wins, so we didn’t select them.

Bubble Team D, lacked road wins, but the selection committee decided to ignore as much when selecting Team D…ha ha.

I probably have a tiny bit of doubt for no reason, but K-State can go from a “soft lock” to a STONE-COLD Austin lock by beating TCU on Thursday.

I'm just saying = a lot "could" still change in the Big 12 Tourney.

GO STATE !!
