I don’t care if it was against a crappy Iowa State team, at least we aren’t the crappiest team in the conference. Wins will probably be few and far between this year, so I’ll jump on this chance to be positive while I can.
-Our Two centers combined to shoot 9-11 for 24 points.
-starters combined to shoot 23-23 from the line, that’s simply amazing, and dosent have anything to do with the level of competition
-outrebounded then 35-25
I think one of my biggest takeaways was that it’s not like they came out and played a perfect game, they had lots of turnovers, and didn’t hit a three in the 2nd half and still managed to find a way to win. The guys that had been carrying the workload in the first couple of games (McGuirl, and Pack) had off nights, and it didn’t matter because other guys stepped up.
I was excited to see this out of them tonight, it was a pleasant surprise, and hopefully something to grow on and give them confidence going forward.
