Source of this work wants to remain anonymous, but some interesting black and white numbers about free-throw shooting in the Big 12. And no, it's not the source you think it is. Some words they sent me:
+ Increase / - decrease in FT attempts in conference play over non-conf play:
1). Kansas + 76.2%
2). Oklahoma State + 15.1%
3). Oklahoma + 8.5%
4). Kansas State + 2.2%
All other teams are a DECREASE
+ Increase / - decrease in FT attempts MARGIN in conference play over non-conference play:
1). Kansas + 248.6%
2). Oklahoma + 30.9%
All other teams FTA MARGIN has decreased in conference play from that of non-conference play (all other are negative %) including West Virginia at - 2,526.7%
Now Mellinger of the KC Star and a few others have tried to state that Kansas is driving to the basket more or shooting less 3FGA ... KU’s 3FGA per game in non-conf was 25.92 to 25.60 in conference play. A paltry drop of -1.25%.
....
I probably could get accused for having too much respect for Bill Self, Kansas and their streak at times. These numbers, though, are pretty alarming.
