I absolutely love and respect Bill Snyder. The word "LEGEND" does not come close to describing how positive I feel about him as a person and as a football coach.
I have zero ideas as to whether he would like Sean to be the next head coach. I have never heard a single comment on his part to indicate such, even though there are a number of posters who believe it as a fact.
My feeling is that IF Sean ever wanted to be a head coach, then he SHOULD have at some point in time taken an OC or DC at KSU, or taken an OC, DC, or head position at some other school. He needed to establish his creds, prove himself, and not rely on just his work ethic and his ST and Recruiting Coord positions at KSU.
IMO there is much more to being a head coach than being a hard worker, nice guy, good person, and a team player.
Being a head coach at any level involves a combination of traits, skills and personal qualities. Some are listed, but in no particular order of importance.

- (1 Public face/spokesman of the program and school.
- (2 Ability to relate to players during both the recruiting process and the year-around team building process.
- (3 Ability to attract outstanding position coaches and provide them with the leadership and skills that makes them a powerful coaching staff as a team.
- (4 Ability to powerfully motivate players so that the players are pushed hard to maximize their abilities during both a season of games and during the long non-game season of lifting, conditioning, and spring practice.
- (5 Having a strong sense of "This who I am as a person", "This is what I believe in regards to offensive and defensive football", "This is what I believe in regards to how to live one's life".
- (6 Being to maintain poise and focus in the face of adversity and strong public criticism.
- (7 Being able to evaluate physical/character talent of players and THEN with coaching staff make the necessary decisions that maximizes these skills for the betterment of the team.
- HAS SEAN SNYDER EVER OPENLY AND NOTICEABLY DEMONSTRATED ANY OF THESE SKILL SETS DURING HIS TIME AS DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPS AND SPECIAL TEAM COACH AT KANSAS STATE?
- HAS ANY OTHER CANDIDATE FOR THE EVENTUAL HC POSITION AT KSU EVER DEMONSTRATED ANY OF THESE SKILLS DURING THEIR TIME AS ASSISTANT OR HEAD COACH, WHETHER IT BE A KANSAS STATE OR AT SOME OTHER UNIVERSITY?
