K-State is not playing women's softball instead of soccer. Watch the end of the OU- Florida game last night and a couple of late innings tonight. I can watch women's college softball about any time and enjoy a good game. Our local HS girls team has won two state championships and been to state more years than not since they started the program in 1992. It is a point of pride in our town to have a HS sports team that wins league and regional championships almost every year.
I have never liked watching soccer, to me it is a boring game with silly rules. And no, I don't care if the rest of the world plays/likes soccer. I have a granddaughter that plays HS soccer so I have seen plenty of games. I just can't get excited in any way about it. Thank goodness my grandsons gave it up at an early age.
Kansas seems to have several girls who end up playing Division 1 softball. A local guy who I like and respect is really excited about Kansas girls getting involved in soccer at a higher level, (college and club teams). I just have no interest in it at any level.
