before the end of Spring ball, but per D Scott's article, it's also unlikely that Ertz will see much spring action (if any).

If you go back to last summer and fall camp, it was hard to find a player that did not seem excited about Jesse Ertz. A lot of players talked about Jesse's competitiveness and leadership.

I'm going to go out a limb and guess that the players were not only excited about Jesse's running ability, but also his ability to throw the rock.

Iin 2016, the one thing that Jesse lacked and it showed up early last season, was experience.
Jesse struggled some against Stanford and also against West Virginia. Of course, the coaches didn't help Jesse a whole lot in Morgantown (very slow with getting the plays called).
Word to the wise: Don't try to change the play with less than 10 seconds left on the play-clock in a hostile environment. Despite K-State's inconsitency on offense against WV, the Cats missed a late FG that could have won the game.
Not to mention, K-State had a young O-line that was still building chemistry.

With a healthy / experienced Jesse Ertz in 2017, K-State's offense could be unstoppable force.

2017 Offense:
It all starts up front = the O-line returns 4 starters (both tackles & center). I would like to believe the O-line will only continue to improve. Lots of quality competiton on the O-line.

A key to next season will be to keep Jesse healthy.
With a number of high quality running backs (+ Dimel at fullback), Jesse likely won't need to run as much in 2017.
Alex Barnes is a stud. Silmon is going to bring it. A dash or two of Warmack.
And just when a defense starts to wear down ... enter 230 pounds of Mike McCoy.
Reportedly, McCoy ran a 4.5 - 40 and is weighing in at 230.... oh my.

And how about those recievers.
Pringle - Strickland - Heath - Zuber - Sutton (to name a few).
Jesse will feel like it's X-mas given K-State's quality receivers.

And the tight-ends return.

Lastly, throw in Jesse's ability to run the ball.

I know there are some questions marks on defense, but a productive offense is a defense's best friend.

GO STATE !
