Yesterday was ugly, but after looking over the bubble I still think we are dancing. We are not in a comfortable position because you never know how many bids will be stolen in the conference tournaments, but I like our odds.
We need to win 4 of our next 8 games to get in. All of the projection sites I have looked at (Teamrankings, Realtime RPI, RPI forecast) have us getting it done. I think the key is winning ONE of our next THREE games: @ Texas, Texas Tech, or @ OK State. Get one of those and then all we need to do is protect home court down the stretch against ISU, Baylor, and Texas.
The bubble itself is pretty ugly:
Marquette - Lost yesterday at home to fellow bubble team Providence. Projected to finish 16-14 (7-11 in Big East). Currently "In" at Bracket Matrix
Virginia Tech - Lost yesterday at home to Miami. Projected to finish 19-12 (8-10 in the ACC). Currently "In" at Bracket Matrix.
Syracuse - Lost yesterday at home to Virginia. Projected to finish 18-13 (7-11 in the ACC). Currently the first team "Out" at Bracket Matrix.
SMU - Lost on Thursday at Tulsa to fall to .500 in the American. Projected to finish 20-10 (10-8 in the American). Currently in the first 4 out at Bracket MAtrix.
