Really looking forward to this game. I am interested to see what all Andy Reid has come up with over the last couple of weeks. Am guessing that a lot of focus has been spent on routes/RPOs that give Mahomes the best chance to stay clean. Probably moving the pocket and using alot of rollouts. I am curious to see if this line can protect long enough for the Chiefs to get into their longer routes.
I dont think TB's front seven is as good as SF's was last year, but they are pretty good nonetheless. What is concerning, however is how patched up the Chiefs are on the OL right now.
Niang and LDT opted out. Osemele out. Schwartz out. Fischer out.
Chiefs will be starting two 7th round pick, 2 undrafted free agents, and a mid-season pick up. Total payroll of this starting line up is ~ $6M
I was impressed with how they finished the Buffalo game. Am hoping they can keep it rolling! Am glad we have a QB that is mobile and even more importantly that he throws accurately on the run and from multiple arm angles - that will be important in this game.
Meanwhile, Tom Brady has one of the top five OL's in the league protecting him. Marpet, Jensen and Wirfs are very highly regarded at their respective positions. I think Spags is going to have to bring a DB from the outside to get to Brady. Sneed and Mathieu have performed well in that role. Time for Jones and Clark to earn those big paychecks. Even if they dont get sacks they need to make Brady uncomfortable with hurries and knockdowns.
What are other matchups you guys are looking at?
