noticed in a recent thread someone used the high number of tackles by a DB as a good statistic. Nothing could be further from the reality.
A really good DB will have fewer passes thrown his way, more pass breakups, and a lower completion percentage to receivers he covers. And he will have fewer tackles because of more incomplete passes due to good covrerage.
All the tackles mean is a high number of passes were completed to receivers he was covering.
