Let me start by saying that I am just as skeptical of our ability to win next year given the roster changes, and think Weber should be gone if we don't improve, but some of the arguments on here are contradictory and a bit silly.
Leadership / team chemistry issues: everyone harps all season long that these are ultimately Bruce's fault (which is true), yet when he does exactly what we complained about him failing to do previously by ridding the team of problem players (who received several chances to change their attitude mid-season), you call for his head. Contradictory, much?
Scapegoats for last season: please stop the whole "he's just looking for someone to blame last season on". It makes absolutely ZERO rational sense. Weber clearly knows two things:
1. His job is safe this year, otherwise Currie would not be letting him make roster changes
2. His butt is on the line next year, and if we don't show real improvement, he is GONE
So if you truly think he is just running off guys to point the finger for something he has already weathered rather than making changes that he believes will help our team improve next year, you must think Weber is either a masochist and wants to lose his job, or he is simply insane.
Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that it sucks to lose a player like Foster. That said, if this had continued again next year, wouldn't you all be calling for Weber's head for not ridding the team of its cancer?
Next year might very well suck, and it might be Weber's last, but he definitely doing what he thinks is best for the team next season, because that is what ultimately will determine his job status, not excuses and finger pointing.
