just got my tax bill and it went up significantly because we couldn’t itemize and had to take the standard deduction. Taking out the personal exemptions killed me because last year with those and itemizing I came out way better paid more than 2000 more this year. Granted lost my last child as a dendepent but still sucks. Owe 4000+ and last year it was around 1800.
I claim 0 and so does my wife the new withholding doesn’t take out enough so I’ve had to increase that significantly each check. The new tax break ended up costing me a bunch since I do not have personal excemtptions and itemized deductions. I know it’s just an anoecdoctal example but it’s mine. Guess I still have May 10 to look forward to when I have to pay 3500 property taxes.
