Confirmed today that Taylor Laird has chosen to leave the K-State football program in hopes of transferring to an FBS school closer to his home in California.
Sounds as though Taylor came down with mono during the first week of spring practices and could never fully bounce back, health wise or on the depth chart. Couple that with trying to perform with a broken hand during the course of last fall and it's been an unlucky year for Taylor in Manhattan.
I was told that Taylor very much enjoyed his time at K-State though and is hopeful for another opportunity to show what he can do.
** I should also note that it appears as though this decision was made prior to the Banks news. In other words, Banks commitment did not impact Laird's choice (i.e.- push Taylor out the door) **
