I posted this under an empty seats thread but decided it needs its own thread. You had to be in Austin to see the effort. I don't remember ever seeing a dogfight like that in the humid conditions we played in. You could say well Texas bounced back but Texas won so they got a lift out of it and we really looked down after the game so here's my take:

Went to the Texas game and watched us physically put everything we had on the field and we kind of left it there too. I wondered if we would be able to compete the next week with a team that requires maximum physical effort. Really good TCU team maybe a playoff bound team. Our bye week this year is off too. And frankly we aren't getting the calls or the bounces and our leader Ertz is out. I think we get 6 wins but things will need to change and Snyder has changed this time of year before. He indicated that the play calling isn't in line with our players that's exactly correct as Delton is a sprint out passer as shown in spring games. Our OL is no where near past years so move the pocket. However the OL did move a good Texas group so a lot of that could be TCU is just that good up front. None of our QBs would have stood a chance yesterday. Delton played on instinct and adrenaline at Texas and thinking too much and having to escape too much under pressure yesterday. He's too short to drop back especially when the line of scrimmage is moved so far back. Sprint out QB fits his stature and let's him view the field. Those plays are in the book El ran them
