In Wisconsin where a woman who was doing methamphetamines and marijuana to self-medicate found out she was pregnant and went to the doctor. She admitted to using the drugs but having stopped them when she thought she might be pregnant. No matter, she is being suspected of child abuse, has been jailed, and her fetus has an attorney.
Of course, that's not as bad as the woman in Iowa who fell down the stairs while pregnant and admitted to thinking about abortion, though deciding to keep the child. She was charged with attempted infanticide because she fell down the stairs while pregnant and for having thought about abortion. Her case was dropped because she was not in her third trimester.
With personhood bills being proposed in states across the country, this is the type of BS we can expect - women doing the right thing and seeking medical treatment but then being arrested for doing drugs at any point in the pregnancy or slipping while having bad thoughts. It's also extremely stupid medically as you drive pregnant women from seeking medical treatment which is worse for the child than the problem they are supposedly trying to fix, but that's not actually the point, obviously.
