Posted as a question because, well, you’ll see why...

College athletics should be competitive. But sports in general have often been touted as another way to teach teamwork, leadership, facing adversity, learning to win AND lose, and a whole host of other skills which transcend into every day life.

More and more, the culture seems to move towards winning at all costs. Players are degraded, derided and heckled. This has not just infiltrated college ranks but also high schools and even lower... sad, in my opinion, that the true value of playing sports seems to get lost in all that.

The values associated with athletes are not the same... it’s all about flash and style. It’s about winning and doing whatever to make that happen. And now we have situations like Baylor, Louisville, Michigan State... where this seems to be almost the norm.

We’ve fallen so far, I don’t think it will ever go back....
