The First Team had Phil Steele on this morning to discuss his magazine. Phil unfortunately has K-State at 5th or at best in a three way tie for third with UT and TCU. However, Tom Luginbill came back later after Phil got off the phone and discussed K-State. Her had some really nice things to say about Bill and his job building the program, but more importantly he said he thinks we have a shot at the playoff. He didn't say anything ground breaking, but it was nice to hear someone not count us out.
Phil did his annual gloss over saying that Bill got a bunch of JUCOs which isn't really true. I just don't get how anyone can place UT a) in the top 25 and b) as top three in the conference. I have zero doubt that they are going to be a better team this year. They almost have to based on returning production, but for once make them earn the ranking instead of gifting it to them. I saw that Athlon had them at 13....
