Kansas State Athletics is at a fork in the road, and important decisions will be made in the near future, that will effect us for many years to come. Right now in the state of Kansas we have two other universities that have top 10 basketball programs. We are unlikely to make a bowl game in football, and a fringe tournament team in basketball. We with the wrong decisions by the people leading our athletic department could very quickly become "the other" University in Kansas. I understand football is where the money is, but our program right now is much closer to where ku is, than to being the program we all want us to be.

The decisions or possible lack there of made by Athletic Director Gene Taylor will determine whether or not we are included when conference realignment happens. Will we be one of those included in the Power conferences, or will we be one of the ones on the outside scrambling to join the Mountain West or Sunbelt or whatever is left when the smoke clears. There will be conference realignment, it will happen, just a matter of when. Gene must have a good plan in place for the end of this football season. For all that Bill Snyder has done for our program and University, the time has come for him to retire. If we have another year with him at the helm, we are that much closer to going down the wrong the direction in the fork in the road.
