What Bill Snyder has done for K-State and Manhattan cannot be quantified (this is well documented).
I don’t believe some of the younger posters comprehend the magnitude of Bill’s contributions not only to Kansas State University, but the community of Manhattan (heck, the entire State).

Bill is simply one of the greatest college football coaches of all time. He saved football at K-State. Some would say that Bill saved the university.

The second half melt-down in 1998 Big 12 Championship (upon learning that UCLA had lost) still hurts today = Dec 5, 1998 my worst day ever as a sports fan.
K-State would have crushed Tennessee in the Championship game.

2000 – Josh Huephel shot down K-State’s championship dreams.
2002 – So very close to running the table.
2003 – Had Ell not been injured?

2012 – K-State went to Waco with a number of injured players and got bush-wacked. K-State could have beaten ND in 2012 (that dang Sports Illustrated hex).

Had things went a little bit differently in one of those 5 years, K-State would have played for a NC.
And if K-State wins the NC in 1998, there’s a real chance that Vince Young would have come to K-State..etc… etc…

Bottom line, had K-State won a NC in 98, I’m pretty sure Snyder & K-State would have won multiple titles.

Snyder also did what so many other great coaches have failed to do = come out of retirement and have great success.

But here we are, Father Time is knocking on the Great One’s door.
Bill beat all odds to win at K-State, he has beaten cancer, but he cannot beat Father Time.

Don’t get me wrong, I have not thrown in the towel on this season, I still believe this team can win 6 games? Why? K-State has the Great One.

I don’t know if Bill will coach another year, maybe… maybe not. But he has earned the right to coach another season if chooses to do so.
Would I be EXTREMELY excited if Coach decided to retire and K-State hired Venables or Leavitt?
OF COURSE I would be very excited, but it should be coach’s decision and his decision only to retire (his health will be a factor… I say it’s 50/50 as I type).

The total lack of respect for the Coach Snyder on this board by a number of posters, just kills me.

Sure it fine to criticize the team’s play and play calling, etc… but the personal attacks on the Coach, makes me sick to my stomach. Soooo disrespectful.

I was at the Texas game sitting behind the K-State bench. Some young man (probably around 22), kept yelling at Snyder. I mean here is this punk kid calling out the Great One in a very disrespectful way. Some fans told him to shut-up, I would have liked to put my foot up his @ss (ha..ha), maybe it was a good thing my son was with me (ha).

Maybe it’s a societal thing today with young people, no respect for their elders in general.

I like reading news about K-State and recruits on here, but I’m tired of the constant negativity.
There are a handful of posters that have to post negative sh#t on just about every thread… it’s tired.

In truth, there are some posters on here that down deep want Bruce to fail (so that they can be right, about all the hate that they have spewed toward Bruce the past 2 or 3 years). I wish I was joking.

I’m going to check off the board for a while. I wish you all good health.

I will be cheering on the CATS this Saturday.
