A top administration official also told the New York Times that Trump applies a dab of powder prior to television appearances. The official said, however, that this power was translucent and not a bronzer. Former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman had claimed in a book on her time in the Trump administration that he used a tanning bed (no such evidence exists).
