If you have ever coached basketball, then you know the art/skill of "playing hard" is one of the most difficult things to teach or instill within a team. The way K-State has been playing on the defense end of the court has been no less than incredible. And much of that play is highlighted with intense amounts of effort and hard-nosed, physical determination that never appear in a box score.
Well, Bruce and his Play Hard Chart should be getting a lot of the credit from die-hard fans. People should be asking questions about it and journalists should pressing the topic. He has a system that tracks this effort. Over the last few years Bruce's teams have not had this amount of grit, but it seems they have been building on it and developing it. There seems to be no alternative reasoning behind this teams ability and desire to hustle. They have been taught by their coaches using a rigorous assessment system, it's called The Play Hard Chart.
I know Bruce can never bring it up again in a post-game presser for obvious and embarrassing reasons, but after these last four games (I'm including the KU game) I really want to get my hands on those charts.
GO CATS.
