more fundamental than play calling and assistant coaching. It boils down to Snyder's philosophy on recruiting. He won't recruit during the season and won't put up with the attitude of many highly ranked recruits that he feels won't fit into his system. Thus we get mediocre to good recruits that are coached up amazingly considering their pedigree, but still are not good enough to play in the B12. For example if we had a better, faster secondary that can compete, then calling for a punt on 4th and 1 yesterday would not have mattered. We had plenty of time to get a stop. And if we had a Mason Rudolph type player we would have smoked OSU. In years past there was nothing wrong with Snyder's or Dimel's playcalling if we had the players who could execute it. To me it has always been about recruiting.
